Art 1
We began our year in Art 1 with an Intro to Drawing Unit. During this unit we learned how to use the elements of shape to draw just about anything! During this Unit we drew Early Birds and Japanese Koi. Next we began our unit on Shapes and created a Collage City! As we moved into our Value unit we created a monochromatic forest painting and then Value Animal Portraits and Dragon Eyes!
Art 2
We began our year in Art 2 with our unit on Shapes. During this unit we learned how to use shapes to abstract-ify as we created Matisse inspired paper collages. Next, we used positive and negative shapes in a process called Gelli-printing.
Each Semester students also
completed an Art History project. As we moved into our Value unit we created a monochromatic forest painting and then Value Animal Portraits and Dragon Eyes!
Open Studio is an opportunity for students to work on art related projects with access to an art teacher's expertise and some of my supplies. This year, students worked on individual projects, put in extra time on art class projects, completed art related assignments for other classes, and enjoyed experimenting with new art media. In addition, students were given the opportunity to try a few special projects. Special Projects this year included: Sewing - teddy bears, Artist Trading Cards, Memory wire bracelets, and Sewing - panel skirts.

Drama & Film Crew
The Marvelous Misadventures of Professor Cogwright
Drama and Film Crew have done a lot of hard work this year: honing our acting skills, writing an original script with all new original characters, making costumes, building sets and props, and even writing songs! Unfortunately, our filming schedule was interrupted during 4th quarter, so our film took a bit longer to complete. At long last, it is finished! Enjoy the Marvelous Misadventures of Professor Cogwright: Episode 1!
